Let's discuss options for disabling Summary for your meetings — sometimes referred to by users as turning off their "recording," "notes," or "removing Xembly" from their calls.

In Progress Meeting:

Turn off Summary for an in-progress meeting

You can turn off Summary for an in-progress meeting in two ways:

  1. Click on the meeting in your calendar view (Google Calendar for the Extension) and hit stop in the Xembly Web App or Extension.

  2. After Xena sends the initial greeting message, type "/xena leave" in the chat function in Zoom, GMeet, or Microsoft Teams for Enterprise (this is not currently supported for personal Microsoft Teams accounts).

Individual Meetings:

Ask Xena

Ping Xena on Slack or in the Xembly Web App or Extension to disable notetaking for an upcoming meeting.

  • Say something like “Turn off Summary for my 9am tomorrow” or “Don’t take notes for Maisie <> Ryan anymore.”

User asks to "Turn off Summary for my 9am tomorrow" on Slack and Xena replies "Got it. I've turned off Summary for HR Sync. If you have any other requests, please feel free to ask."
User sends Slack message reading "Don't take notes for Maisie &lt;&gt; Ryan any more" and Xena replies "No problem. I've disabled Summary for all upcoming instances of Maisie &lt;&gt; Ryan."

Web App (desktop)

  • Visit web.xembly.com

  • Click on the meeting you'd like to disable Summary for in the calendar view on the home page

  • Under Meeting Settings, toggle off Get meeting summary

Web App (mobile)

  • Open a browser and visit web.xembly.com

  • Click on the meeting you'd like to disable Summary for in the calendar view on the home page. The meeting details will automatically pop up.

  • Under Meeting Settings, toggle off Get meeting summary

Extension

  • Visit your Google Calendar and click on an event with Summary enabled

  • When your Xembly Extension pops open, toggle off Get Meeting Summary

Default Summary:

Web App (desktop)

Global Summary allows Xena to automatically take notes for all meetings that you own or all meetings on your calendar. To turn off this feature manually:

  • Go to web.xembly.com

  • Open your Settings on the left side of the web page

  • Click on Preferences

  • Under Summary, toggle off Default Summary Settings

Web App (mobile)

  • Open a browser and visit web.xembly.com

  • Click the three horizontal lines on the top right of the screen

  • Click Settings

  • Expand the Preferences section

  • Under Summary, toggle off Default Summary Settings

Extension

Global Summary allows Xena to automatically take notes for all meetings that you own or all meetings on your calendar. To turn off this feature manually:

  • Visit your Settings in the Xembly Extension

  • Click on Preferences

  • Toggle off Default Summary Settings

Ask Xena

You can ping Xena in Slack or the Xembly Web App or Extension to disable Global Summary.

  • Say something like “Don’t take notes automatically”

  • Confirm that you'd like to turn off Summary for "all meetings"
