If you’ve been missing your chance to admit the notetaker into your meetings, a simple adjustment to your GMeet video call settings will allow your notetaker to enter automatically:

  • Click on any event in your calendar that has video conferencing added

  • Click the pencil icon to edit the event

  • To the right of the blue “Join with Google Meet” button, click the gear icon to open “Video call options”

  • Scroll down to “Meeting Access”

  • Switch the settings from “Trusted” or “Restricted” to “Open”

  • Click Save to apply these changes

This adjustment will allow the notetaker to join that meeting without manual admittance.

Note: You’ll need to make this adjustment in your video call settings for every GMeet meeting that has Summary enabled, as this change does not apply universally to all your meetings.

Zoom tip: If you’re a Zoom user and have your waiting room turned on in the Meeting settings of the Zoom web app, you’ll need to admit the notetaker manually.
